1. Product Overview & Component Descriptions
Lock Power Infinity is a perpetual power system engineered for smart locks, leveraging advanced Perovskite Photovoltaics to harvest ambient light — even in low-lux conditions — delivering a reliable, maintenance-free power loop.
1.1 Perovskite PV Panel
Highly sensitive Perovskite Photovoltaics optimized for low-lux porch environments. Captures ambient light continuously, even at dawn, dusk, or under overcast skies.
1.2 Power Button & LED Indicator
A physical button controls the system state. The hidden LED provides feedback only during power toggles. Remains completely off during standby.
1.3 90° L-Shaped Type-C Connector
An ultra-low-profile plug designed for emergency power ports on mainstream smart locks. The 90° right-angle design keeps the cable flush against the lock body for a clean fit.
1.4 Retractable Hidden Cable
Internal recoil mechanism with a cable stretchable up to 10‑1/4" (260 mm). Excess length retracts automatically into the enclosure, eliminating slack and wind-induced movement.
1.5 Heavy-Duty Double-Sided Tape
Heavy-duty double-sided tape with UV, weather, moisture, and temperature resistance. Bonds permanently to iron, wood, and aluminum alloy doors across all seasons.

2.2 Installation Instructions
2.2.1 Pre-Installation Setup
- Double-Sided Tape Application: Peel off the release liner from one side of the included heavy-duty industrial double-sided adhesive, carefully align and apply it to the designated adhesive area on the back of the device, and press firmly to ensure a secure, solid bond.
- System Activation: Press and hold the power button. The Blue LED will transition from off to a solid light during the press, and then turn off immediately upon releasing the button. This feedback confirms that the system has successfully awakened from shipping mode.
- Ready for Mount: Once activated and prepped, the device is fully ready to be mounted and connected to your lock.
⚠ NOTE
To verify power status before installation, refer to FAQ Q2.
2.2.2 Site & Environment Check
- Applicable Environment: Main doors with porches, awnings, or semi-outdoor entrances with ambient light access. Minimum 2,000 Lux daytime ambient light at the mounting location.
- Surface Preparation: Wipe the mounting area with a clean cloth. Remove dust, grease, moisture, and debris.
⚠ NOTE
If installed in an indoor space, low-level indoor lighting is insufficient to sustain long-term continuous power. Refer to FAQ Q3.
2.2.3 Adjust Cable Length & Test Fit
Keep the adhesive liner on. Position the unit near the door and gently pull the retractable cable to the required length. Plug into the lock's emergency port to verify fit. Use the included adapter for Micro-USB ports.
2.2.4 Mount the Unit
After confirming that the extended cable length is suitable, peel off the protective film from the heavy-duty double-sided tape on the back. Once aligned with your pre-selected mounting position, press down firmly.
⚠ CRITICAL ADHESIVE NOTE
The adhesive requires 72 hours (3 days) to reach 100% bonding strength. Do not tug or stress the unit or cable during this period.
2.2.5 Installation Complete
Excess cable automatically recoils into the housing. No clips, zip ties, or tapes needed — the entrance remains sleek and minimalist.

3.2 Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How does LockPower Infinity guarantee my outdoor lock always stays powered?
It comes down to simple math — on top of its 1,500 mAh backup battery, LockPower Infinity harvests more energy every day than your lock uses.
Even in a shaded outdoor spot under an eave, LockPower Infinity gets about 8 hours of normal ambient light at 2,000 lux per day. After accounting for circuit losses, it stores 10 mAh — more than enough for a basic smart lock with fingerprint, passcode, and Bluetooth. At 10 unlocks a day, that type of lock uses only about 5 mAh per day.
In a typical open, unobstructed location, daylight at least averages 6,000 lux over 8 hours. Even after circuit losses, LockPower Infinity stores over 40 mAh — enough to fully power a top-of-the-line flagship smart lock with facial recognition, Wi-Fi connectivity, and radar/infrared sensors, which uses up to 35 mAh per day at 10 unlocks a day.
And on days with direct angled sunlight at sunrise or sunset (20,000–30,000 lux), LockPower Infinity captures more than 40 mAh within 30 minutes.
Q2: Why can't I install LockPower Infinity inside my house?
Indoor lighting can't reliably deliver 8 hours of 2,000 lux ambient light per day. Without that level of light, we can't guarantee LockPower Infinity will keep your lock powered at all times.
Q3: When does the LED light turn on?
- When you activate the device: Press and hold the power button. When the blue light stays on, it's activated! Once you release the button, the light goes off — don't worry, your LockPower Infinity will remain active and keep working normally.
- When you power off the device: Press and hold the power button until the blue light starts blinking. That means it's off, and the light will go off after you release it.
- When LockPower Infinity starts powering your lock directly: Enabled only when its AA batteries drop below the 70% threshold — plugging it into your lock's USB-C or micro USB port, or waking the lock's screen to unlock it.
- When your lock's lithium battery isn't fully charged: LockPower Infinity will charge it to 100% — the LED stays on until it's full.
Q4: How can I tell if LockPower Infinity is working properly?
Once activated, LockPower Infinity stays on and keeps running, but if you're still worried that it's not working properly:
- Take out the lock's own batteries and check the charging performance again. If LockPower Infinity's blue light turns on, it is powering your lock normally.
Q5: Can I take out my lock's original batteries?
We strongly recommend leaving the original batteries in as a backup — just to be extra safe!
Q6: In the unlikely event that both my lock and LockPower Infinity run out of juice, what should I do?
No worries! Just shine a light directly on the solar panel — either natural sunlight or hold your phone's flashlight close to it for about 15 minutes. That gives it enough emergency juice to unlock the door.
Q7: Can I peel off the logo film if I'm not a fan of the "Loofae eyes"?
Go right ahead! Just lift a corner with your fingernail or the tip of scissors and peel it off. It's purely cosmetic — keep it or remove it, either way it won't affect normal use, charging, or your warranty.
Q8: What should I do if my lock gives a "Low Battery" warning?
- For regular AA battery locks: This just means your lock's AA/AAA batteries are low, not LockPower Infinity. LockPower Infinity will keep your lock running fine.
- For rechargeable lithium battery locks: This almost never happens. If it does, double-check your cable connection with the manual or drop our support team a message!
4. Compliance, Environmental & Support
4.1 Disclaimer & Limitations
We at Loofae aren't responsible for any issues or damage caused by the following:
- Glass & Panel Care: The front panel is made of glass. If you drop it or hit it hard, it might crack or break. If that happens, please don't touch or try to take apart the broken glass — you could cut yourself.
- Small Parts & Cable Safety: This product has small parts and a retractable cable. Keep them away from kids under 3 to prevent choking or getting tangled up. Also, don't yank the cable past its limit so you don't snap or ruin the mechanism.
- Light Needs: For non-stop power, LPI needs actual outdoor light. If you install it completely indoors, in a windowless hallway, or under dim indoor lighting, it won't be able to stay charged long-term.
- Extreme Conditions & Lockouts: If your lock loses power because the unit was damaged, tampered with, installed incorrectly, or exposed to crazy weather outside its normal range (-22°F to 140°F / -30°C to 60°C), always put your personal safety first. Never break your door down — just shoot us an email at support@loofae.com and we'll help you out or send a replacement.
