Where It All Began
One of our founders, Layne, has been studying perovskite for 8 years, a next-gen technology that harvest energy from light sources regardless of intensity. He was once an enthusiast of its potentials in outer space, a revolution to the way energy is harnessed nowadays. But a phone call woke him.
His mom got stranded right outside her own home during a downpour, because her smart lock ran out of power. Driving thru the rain with batteries and tools beside him, Layne began to wonder: why should breakthrough technology have to wait for a monumental problem? What if perovskite is better used to solve everday worries that many people might suffer as he does?
Layne then started Loofae with a team of 4 who share the same belief that perovskite is an ideal support for our smart homes. After all, smart home are only smart when they are charged, and perovskite can surely help with that.
Founded in October 2025, Loofae debuts its first product - LockPower Infinity - on September 8, 2026. We are a small startup, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we lack in size, we make up for in obsession. And we are just getting started.
